Department of Cloud Computing and IOT Techniques Engineering
A brief overview of the department
The Department of Cloud Computing and Internet of Things Techniques Engineering is one of the modern academic departments at the Technical Engineering College of Computer and Artificial Intelligence – Mosul, affiliated with the Northern Technical University. The department was established with the goal of preparing highly qualified technical engineers equipped with deep knowledge and practical skills in designing, implementing, and managing integrated cloud systems and Internet of Things (IoT) applications across various industrial and service sectors. The study program combines theoretical foundations in computer and software engineering with practical training in modern laboratories equipped with the latest technologies in cloud computing, networking, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, ensuring that students acquire advanced technical expertise that enables them to meet the demands of the local and global labor markets.
The department has adopted the Bologna educational system, through which students are awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Cloud Computing and Internet of Techniques Engineering after successfully completing eight academic semesters, totaling 240 ECTS credits. The curriculum is designed to align with labor market needs at the local, regional, and international levels, focusing on equipping students with practical skills and technical experience in programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, distributed computing systems, wireless communications, and network security—preparing them to effectively engage in modern technical work environments and contribute to innovative projects in digital transformation.
The department aims to graduate technical engineers capable of designing intelligent solutions based on cloud computing and IoT technologies that serve multiple sectors such as healthcare, industry, smart cities, transportation, and energy. It also enables students to develop practical applications that foster innovation and digital transformation within institutions. Furthermore, the department encourages students and researchers to engage in applied scientific research and innovation in areas such as smart systems, edge computing, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
The department follows a full-time on-campus learning system from Sunday to Thursday, with the possibility of transitioning to online learning when necessary, through accredited digital platforms. All academic programs are conducted at the Technical Engineering College of Computer and Artificial Intelligence in Mosul, making the department a leading academic and technological center in the field of cloud computing and IoT, contributing to the preparation of qualified engineering professionals capable of leading digital transformation projects and supporting sustainable technological development in Iraq and the region.
